Neighborhood Kidz Club – Programs

Our approach to neighborhood outreach begins with elementary age children. This is when they are the most impressionable. Research shows that if we can reach kids spiritually and academically before their teen years there is a much better chance they will succeed in life. We invest our time and resources in plans that equip and reinforce the parents and children to build a strong foundation that leads to success in their pursuit of life from an eternal as well as temporal perspective.

After School
Tutoring

After school tutoring is offered in the Kidz Club Learning Center in Western Pines Mobile Home Community. During the school year we offer specialized tutoring and homework assistance to children in kindergarden through fifth grade at no cost to the student. We can accomidate up to 30 children daily and we operate at full capacity most of the time. Kids line up 30 minutes before the sessions to assure there seat in the learning center. Volunteers including high school students, active and retired teachers, local business men and women, and others enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of high risk children.

Backyard
Bible Clubs

Loving our neighbors is a high priority, so sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ is imperitive as we extend love and kindness to children and families. For 8 weeks in the spring and 8 weeks in the fall, 55 to 75 children come to hear Bible stories, memorize verses, see the plan of salvation, play games and sing songs. What a thrill we experience as we witness children making the decision to follow Jesus Christ. We see life change including new purpose and direction for parents and families.

Summer
Reading

Research has decisively shown that the most important factor in determining how far students will go with their education is how much time they spend reading outside of school. This makes Summer Reading one of the highest impact programs in which our students participate. Each year, local chapters of National Charity League team up with Neighborhood KidZ Club to offer Summer Reading. Students spend their summers reading books at or above their grade level and are given opportunities to critically reflect on what they have read.

Sports
Camp

During the summer months many of the students in our communities spend the majority of their time at home alone. They do not have an opportunity to participate in summer activities like camps, sports, or vacations that so many other families take for granted. It is during these idle days many students start getting into trouble. Neighborhood KidZ Club partners with Mission Fuge Camps to offer summer Sports Camp for our middle school students. For three weeks during the summer our students are engaged with organized sports and spiritual formation.
